Definición / Explicación
Usamos there is y there are para decir que algo existe o está disponible. Esta estructura nos ayuda a introducir cosas en un lugar, no a describirlas directamente. Usa there is con sustantivos en singular y there are con sustantivos en plural. Es muy común al hablar de habitaciones, ciudades, comida, muebles y situaciones cotidianas.
Reglas clave
- Usa there is con un sustantivo en singular: There is a chair.
- Usa there are con un sustantivo en plural: There are two chairs.
- El sujeto real va después de there is/are.
- Usa a/an o un número cuando haga falta: There is a park. / There are three parks.
