परिभाषा / व्याख्या
हम there is और there are का उपयोग यह बताने के लिए करते हैं कि कोई चीज़ मौजूद है या उपलब्ध है। यह संरचना हमें किसी जगह में चीज़ों का परिचय कराने में मदद करती है, सीधे उनका वर्णन करने के बजाय। एकवचन संज्ञाएँ के साथ there is और बहुवचन संज्ञाएँ के साथ there are का उपयोग करें। कमरों, शहरों, खाने, फर्नीचर और रोज़मर्रा की स्थितियों में यह बहुत आम है।
मुख्य नियम
- एकवचन संज्ञा के साथ there is का उपयोग करें: There is a chair.
- बहुवचन संज्ञा के साथ there are का उपयोग करें: There are two chairs.
- असली कर्ता, there is/are के बाद आता है।
- ज़रूरत हो तो a/an या संख्या का उपयोग करें: There is a park. / There are three parks.
- इस संरचना के बाद अक्सर जगह बताने वाला वाक्यांश आता है: There is a cafe near here.
