परिभाषा / व्याख्या
हम नकारात्मक वाक्यों और प्रश्न में भी there is / there are का उपयोग कर सकते हैं। इससे हम कह सकते हैं कि कोई चीज़ मौजूद नहीं है, उपस्थित नहीं है, या पूछ सकते हैं कि वह मौजूद है या नहीं। एकवचन संज्ञाएँ के साथ there isn't और बहुवचन संज्ञाएँ के साथ there aren't का उपयोग करें। प्रश्न में हम सामान्यतः क्रम बदलते हैं और Is there...? या Are there...? कहते हैं।
मुख्य नियम
- एकवचन संज्ञाएँ के साथ there isn't या there is not का उपयोग करें।
- बहुवचन संज्ञाएँ के साथ there aren't या there are not का उपयोग करें।
- प्रश्न के लिए Is there...? और Are there...? का उपयोग करें।
- नएगअटइवएस और प्रश्न में अक्सर any आता है: There isn't any milk.
- छोटे जवाब आम हैं: Yes, there is. / No, there aren't.
उदाहरण
- There isn't a bus stop near my house. - मेरे घर के पास बस स्टॉप नहीं है।
- There aren't any clean cups. - कोई भी साफ़ कप नहीं हैं।
- Is there a toilet here? - क्या यहाँ शौचालय है?
- Are there any eggs in the fridge? - क्या फ़्रिज में अंडे हैं?
- There is not a problem now. - अभी कोई समस्या नहीं है।
सामान्य गलतियाँ
- ❌ There don't have any chairs. -> ✅ There aren't any chairs.
- ❌ Is there any tickets? -> ✅ Are there any tickets?
- ❌ There isn't books on the desk. -> ✅ There aren't books on the desk.
