Definizione / Spiegazione

Usiamo because per dare una causa e so per dare un risultato. Le due idee sono collegate, ma la direzione è diversa. I stayed home because I was ill parte dal risultato e poi dà la causa. I was ill, so I stayed home parte dalla causa e poi dà il risultato. Imparare questo contrasto aiuta a costruire frasi chiare e logiche.

Regole chiave

  • Usa because + reason: I stayed home because I was ill.
  • Usa so + risultato: I was ill, so I stayed home.
  • Because risponde a "Why?"
  • So risponde a "What happened because of that?"
  • Non usare entrambi nello stesso schema semplice: non because..., so...
