Definizione / Spiegazione
Il Past Continuous si forma con was/were + verb-ing. Lo usiamo per un'azione in corso in un momento specifico del passato. Spesso dà informazioni di sfondo in una storia invece di mostrare l'evento principale. Per esempio, può rispondere alla domanda "Che cosa stava succedendo alle 7?". Si usa spesso con espressioni di tempo come at 6, all evening o when I called.
Regole chiave
- Usa was con I/he/she/it e were con you/we/they.
- Forma: was/were + verb-ing.
- Usalo per un'azione in corso in un momento passato: At 7:00, I was cooking.
- Spesso risponde a "Che cosa stava succedendo?"

Errori comuni
- ❌ I was cook at 7. -> ✅ I was cooking at 7.
- ❌ They was talking in the kitchen. -> ✅ They were talking in the kitchen.
- ❌ She were sleeping. -> ✅ She was sleeping.
