Usiamo can per parlare di capacità e semplice possibilità. È comune per dire che cosa qualcuno sa fare, come I can swim o She can drive. Dopo can, il verbo resta alla forma base. La forma di can non cambia con he, she o it, quindi è più semplice di molti altri verbi.
Regole chiave
- Usa can + base verb: can swim, can drive.
- La forma è uguale per tutti i soggetti: I can, she can, they can.
- La forma negativa è cannot oppure can't.
- Nelle domande si usa l'inversione: Can you swim?
- Non usare to dopo can.
