discourse markers は、話や文章を整理し、流れを示す語句です。対比、追加、話題転換、例示、強調などの機能があります。文法の核を変えるより、理解しやすさと自然さを高める役割が大きいです。 B1 では流暢さ向上のために重要です。
主要ルール
- 聞き手・読み手を導くために使う。
- 対比: however, actually。
- 展開・転換: anyway, so。
- 例示: for example, for instance。
- 会話では自然な間つなぎにもなる。
例文
- Actually, I don't agree with that idea. - 実は、その考えには同意しません。
- Anyway, let's start the meeting. - とにかく、会議を始めましょう。
- We need to cut costs. For example, we could travel less. - コスト削減が必要です。たとえば出張を減らせます。
- By the way, did you call Anna? - ところで、アンナに電話しましたか。
- In fact, the problem is bigger than we thought. - 実際、その問題は思ったより大きいです。
よくある間違い
- ❌ Actually I don't agree. -> ✅ Actually, I don't agree.
- ❌ We need more time, for example let's meet tomorrow. -> ✅ We need more time. For example, let's meet tomorrow.
- ❌ By the way did you send the file? -> ✅ By the way, did you send the file?
