Dependent prepositions คือคู่คงรูปของคำกับ preposition ที่มักตามหลัง เช่น depend on, interested in, responsible for พบหลัง verbs, adjectives และ nouns หลายคำ รูปเหล่านี้มีทั้งส่วนไวยากรณ์และคำศัพท์ จึงควรจำเป็น chunks ถ้าใช้ preposition ผิด แม้ยังพอเข้าใจได้ แต่จะฟังไม่เป็นธรรมชาติ โดยเฉพาะในระดับ B2 ที่ความแม่นสำคัญขึ้น
กฎสำคัญ
- adjective หลายคำมี preposition คงที่: afraid of, famous for, interested in
- noun หลายคำก็มี preposition คงที่: interest in, reason for, solution to
- verb หลายคำก็เช่นกัน: depend on, belong to, suffer from
- preposition มักคาดเดาจากตรรกะอย่างเดียวไม่ได้
- ควรจำเป็นวลีทั้งชุด ไม่ใช่คำหลักเดี่ยว

ข้อผิดพลาดที่พบบ่อย
- ❌ She is interested on music. -> ✅ She is interested in music.
- ❌ He is responsible of the budget. -> ✅ He is responsible for the budget.
