คำจำกัดความ / คำอธิบาย

Reporting verbs มีหลายคำ และแต่ละคำไม่ได้ใช้ pattern เดียวกัน บางคำต้องมี object บางคำตามด้วย to + infinitive บางคำตามด้วย that-clause หรือ verb-ing ดังนั้นจึงต้องเรียนทั้ง "ความหมาย + pattern" ไปพร้อมกัน เช่น advise, invite, tell มักใช้ object + to-infinitive ถ้าเลือก pattern ผิด ประโยคอาจฟังไม่เป็นธรรมชาติแม้ใจความเข้าใจได้

กฎสำคัญ

• say มักตามด้วย that-clause: He said that...
• tell มักต้องมี object: He told me that...
• บางคำใช้ object + to-infinitive: advise me to apply, tell her to wait
• บางคำตามด้วย verb-ing: admit doing, suggest going
• ควรจำ reporting verbs เป็น grammar chunks

ตัวอย่าง

• He told me to wait. - เขาบอกให้ฉันรอ
• She advised me to apply. - เธอแนะนำให้ฉันสมัคร
• They said that they were ready. - พวกเขาบอกว่าพร้อมแล้ว
• He suggested going by train. - เขาเสนอว่าไปด้วยรถไฟ
• She admitted making a mistake. - เธอยอมรับว่าทำผิด

ข้อผิดพลาดที่พบบ่อย

• ❌ He said me to wait. -> ✅ He told me to wait.
• ❌ She advised me apply. -> ✅ She advised me to apply.
• ❌ He suggested to go by train. -> ✅ He suggested going by train.
