พหูพจน์ไม่ปกติที่พบบ่อย

คำนามที่ใช้บ่อยบางคำไม่ทำพหูพจน์ตามรูป -s / -es ปกติ เราเรียกว่า irregular plurals เช่น child เปลี่ยนเป็น children และ man เปลี่ยนเป็น men เพราะรูปเปลี่ยนแบบพิเศษ จึงควรจำเป็นคำ ๆ ไป

กฎสำคัญ

• บางคำเปลี่ยนสระ: man -> men, woman -> women
• บางคำเปลี่ยนรูปมากกว่าเดิม: child -> children, person -> people
• บางคำเอกพจน์และพหูพจน์รูปเดียวกัน แต่หัวข้อนี้มักเรียนในระดับถัดไป
