Adjectives หลายคู่มีรูป -ed และ -ing โดย -ed มักบอกความรู้สึกของคน ส่วน -ing มักบอกสิ่ง คน หรือสถานการณ์ที่ทำให้เกิดความรู้สึกนั้น เช่น I am bored บอกความรู้สึกของผู้พูด ส่วน the film is boring บอกลักษณะของหนัง รูปแบบนี้เจอบ่อยมาก จึงควรเชื่อมรูปกับความหมายให้แม่น
กฎสำคัญ
- ใช้ -ed สำหรับความรู้สึก: I am bored.
- ใช้ -ing สำหรับสาเหตุที่ทำให้รู้สึก: The film is boring.
- คู่ที่พบบ่อย: interested/interesting, excited/exciting, tired/tiring, surprised/surprising
- คนมักเป็น interested, bored, excited
