คำจำกัดความ / คำอธิบาย
เราใช้ Can you...? และ Could you...? เพื่อขอให้ผู้อื่นทำบางอย่าง ทั้งสองแบบสุภาพ แต่ could มักนุ่มนวลและสุภาพกว่า โครงสร้างนี้ใช้บ่อยในบทสนทนาประจำวัน ที่ทำงาน ร้านค้า และในห้องเรียน Verb หลัง can/could ต้องเป็น base form และมักเติมคำอย่าง please หรือ for me เพื่อให้ฟังเป็นธรรมชาติยิ่งขึ้น
กฎสำคัญ
- ใช้ Can you...? สำหรับคำขอที่สุภาพตรงไปตรงมา
- ใช้ Could you...? สำหรับคำขอที่สุภาพและนุ่มนวลกว่า
- Verb หลักต้องเป็น base form: Can you help me?
- เติม please ได้ถ้าต้องการให้สุภาพขึ้น
- คำตอบที่พบบ่อย: Sure, Of course, Sorry, I can't, No problem
