Past Simple passive ใช้เมื่อบางสิ่ง ถูกทำ ในอดีต และผู้ทำไม่ทราบ ไม่สำคัญ หรือไม่ใช่จุดเน้น โครงสร้างคือ was/were + past participle พบบ่อยในข่าว งานเขียนเชิงข้อเท็จจริง และคำบรรยายเหตุการณ์อดีตที่เน้นผลลัพธ์มากกว่าคนที่ทำ มักมากับคำบอกเวลาอดีตที่ชัด เช่น yesterday, last year, in 2023
กฎสำคัญ
- โครงสร้าง: was/were + past participle
- ใช้ was กับ Subject เอกพจน์ และ were กับพหูพจน์
- ใช้เมื่อเน้นสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้น ไม่เน้นว่าใครทำ
- เติม by + person เมื่อผู้ทำสำคัญจริง
- มักเจอร่วมกับคำบอกเวลาอดีตที่ชัด

- The problem was solved in an hour. - ปัญหาถูกแก้ภายในหนึ่งชั่วโมง
- Their names were not included on the list. - ชื่อของพวกเขาไม่ได้ถูกรวมในรายการ
ข้อผิดพลาดที่พบบ่อย
- ❌ The email was send yesterday. -> ✅ The email was sent yesterday.
- ❌ Two new offices was opened last year. -> ✅ Two new offices were opened last year.
- ❌ The problem solved quickly. -> ✅ The problem was solved quickly.
