Birçok phrasal verb gündelik İngilizcede yaygındır ve çoğu zaman tek sözcüklü alternatiflerinden daha az resmî duyulur. Örneğin put off, çoğu durumda postpone'dan daha konuşma dili gibidir; sort out da resolve'dan daha gündelik gelir. Bu, phrasal verbs'in her zaman gayriresmî olduğu anlamına gelmez; ancak biçim seçimi register'ı sıkça değiştirir. B2 seviyesinde öğrenenlerin yalnızca anlama değil, üslup ve bağlama da dikkat etmesi gerekir. En iyi seçim, durumun gündelik, nötr, profesyonel veya akademik olmasına bağlıdır.

- Phrasal verbs konuşma dilinde ve gündelik yazıda sık görülür.
- Tek sözcüklü alternatifler daha resmî veya akademik duyulabilir.
- Çeviri benzer görünse bile anlam her zaman tam aynı değildir.
- Biçimi hedef kitlenize ve amacınıza göre seçin.
- Phrasal verbs'ten tamamen kaçınmayın; bunlar doğal İngilizcenin önemli bir parçasıdır.

- ❌ I found out the truth. -> ✅ I found out the truth.
