I was wondering..., Did you want...?, I hoped...。
I wanted to ask...
I was wondering if..., Did you want to...?, I hoped you could...
- I was wondering if you could help me.
- Did you want to sit down?
- I hoped we could discuss the budget today. -
- We wanted to ask whether the room was available. -
- I thought it might be better to wait. -
- ❌ I wonder if you could help me. -> ✅ I was wondering if you could help me.
- ❌ Did you want to sign here yesterday? -> ✅ Do you want to sign here? / ✅ Did you want to sign here? (polite now, not yesterday)
- ❌ I am hoping you could send it today. -> ✅ I was hoping you could send it today.
