Past Continuous 由 was/were + verb-ing 构成。它用于描述过去某个时间点正在进行的动作。它常在故事中提供背景信息，而不是主事件。比如它能回答“7 点那会儿在发生什么？”常与 at 6、all evening、when I called 等时间表达连用。

- I/he/she/it 用 was；you/we/they 用 were。
