间接引语用于转述他人的话，而不逐字引用。若引述动词在过去时，英语常把从句时态后移一步（backshift），表示原话发生在更早时间。但 backshift 并非总是必须，尤其当信息现在仍然成立时。真正关键是理解“原话时间、转述时间、当前现实”三者关系。
关键规则
- 用引述动词：said, told, explained, mentioned 等。
- 时态常后移：am -> was, have done -> had done, will -> would。
- say 与 tell 搭配不同：He said that... / He told me that...
- 代词、时间词、地点词也可能需要变化。
- 若内容现在仍显然为真，可不后移。

- He said that he was tired. - 他说他累了。
- She told me that she had left early. - 她告诉我她早走了。
- They said they would call later. - 他们说稍后会打电话。
- I told her that the meeting was cancelled. - 我告诉她会议取消了。
- He said that the earth is round. - 他说地球是圆的。
常见错误
- ❌ He told that he was tired. -> ✅ He said that he was tired. / ✅ He told me that he was tired.
- ❌ She said me that she had left. -> ✅ She told me that she had left.
